Sure there’s a lot of buzz about social media marketing BUT, how do we turn our social media activity into actual leads that we can follow up on and eventually convert into paying clients?
From our friends at Digital Marketer come three great ideas for doing just that.
Tip #1: Use teaser copy in your posts on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to drive leads to your blog page or a specific page on your site. We use this strategy a lot, and in fact, it’s likely you’re reading this as a result of a brief post we made on a social media site that led you here. (I wrote a longer article a short time back about using content in your social media strategy which you can read HERE.)
Tip #2: Offer readers a reason to opt-in when they’re reading the article on your site. Again, this is a great idea, and I can speak from personal experience to its importance. We find that making the offer at the very bottom of the article results in the highest levels of conversion. For example, the offer of a free eBook at the bottom of this article pulls much larger numbers than a similar offer that’s located elsewhere.
Tip #3: Stay in touch. Although on the surface this seems like kind of a “Duh” tip, the folks at Digital Marketer have tested and learned that leads that come from social media are far more likely to open and read your email drip marketing, than prospects that come from other sources such as advertising. However, that said, you still need to make sure your content is interesting to read. I’ve talked extensively about the power of stories in previous posts such as this one.
All good tips but they’re worth nada if you don’t…implement!
Speaking of implementation…if lack of time is the main obstacle to getting your marketing system up and running, or your website redesigned so it actually does you some good, then the information HERE, will be of interest.
